When I have my opponent in north/south I need to have over unders on him. With my right arm under his armpit and my left arm under his arm and on his chest I apply pressure on him and turn him to his right side and apply the arm bar. If he defends and clasps his hands together I go for the kimura. I bring my knees around his head, I lock up the kimura grip on his arm, I must put my right knee to the mat over his bicep. I keep tight on his arm, curled up until I’m ready to break his grip, tug, tug, big tug and finish with the kimura.
If he turtles up, and you are on his right side, grab the gi material on his left shoulder and left hip and pull him towards you. It’s very important at that moment to get your left arm under his left arm and to control his head. From here you can attack with an armbar, kimura, collar choke, ezekiel or you can take his back and finish him with other submissions.
If you have your opponent on his side you must have your arm under his arm (your left arm under his left arm), if he tries to roll away from you, you lean back, if he rolls into you, you lean into him.

You are in side control. With your right hand pull his gi out, grabbing close to the end of it pull it towards his head. Get head control, once you establish that feed the end of his gi to your left hand (it doesn’t have to be tight). Place your right elbow to his left hip make him think that you are going knee on belly but when he defends you place your left knee on his chest, when he defends that you place your right knee on his belly while you take your left knee off his chest. Grab his lapel on his right side with your right hand, post on your foot and pull him hard towards you. Let go of his gi with your left hand and while you are taking his back, reach in front of his neck and grab his lapel, place a foot between his legs and fall to the right and establish your second hook while you grab the other side of his lapel for the choke.
Or you can choose to place your right arm across the back of his head for a choke, kind of like an ezekiel.

Your opponent has you in side control, he has head control and he has one arm between your legs. Place your right hand on his hip, try to get the left arm under his chin and grab place your hand on his left shoulder. Shrimp out, with the space created, bring your right knee across his belly. Throw your left leg over his shoulders. Straighten out your back, while using your knees to break his grip on you. You can pull guard, go for a choke or grab his sleeves.
An alternate would be, to push his head away and throw up a triangle, if he loosens his grip go for a kimura, if he tries to escape by placing his head on the mat, place your right elbow across his belt and roll him over, do not open your legs, once you are on top of him, switch arm control, replace your left arm with your right arm, press your head tight to his arm, place the blade of your arm under his tricep but below his elbow and go for an armbar. You can also finish on top with a kimura.

You are in side control, your opponent gets an under hook on you. Place your left foot above his head, turn your body so that you can place your elbow below his armpit but on his ribs. Throw your right leg over your left and pull your left leg thru/under the right leg. Place your right knee and shin along the length of his back, get your under over on his head. You have just taken his back. You can roll him over you to establish your hooks.

You have your opponent in your closed guard, he is going to know that once you grab his arm with both your hands that you are going for an armbar. So you are going to grab his sleeve with your left hand, your other hand can grab the side of his knee. Open your guard, with your left leg, start kicking it out like you are riding a bike, with your right leg try to lock down high on his back/across shoulders. Once your are perpendicular to your opponent throw your left leg over his face for the armbar.
