Starting on your butt and your opponent on his knees, place your feet in between his legs, with your left arm go around his right arm and grab his lapel and lock him down. With your right hand grab his left wrist, now depending on where he wants to go if he tries to pass to the right push his left hand down to his knees, if he tries to pass to the left push his left arm up and away.
If he pulls away from you, place your left foot on his hip, pull your right leg out and turn your leg slightly so that you can hammer down across his back to lock up the triangle.

Starting on your butt and your partner on his knees, place your feet between his legs, with your left hand grab the end of his sleeve on his right arm, tuck it in tight between you too, keep your elbows in. With your right hand, go under his left arm and reach around and grab his belt, fall to your left side and with your left foot really dig into the mat, raise your right leg to sweep and while still holding his sleeve punch it to the sky so that he can’t pull away and that he falls to his side, finish in side control.

Escape side control to half butterfly sweep to armbar: you are in your opponents side control: 1) bump and shrimp to your side and slide your left hand and place it on his right torso. 2) your left foot is perpendicular to the mat, shoot your right foot under it and you will finish in a belly down north south position, get to your knees. 3) your opponent may continue to push forward (wrestlers do this), roll back and over your right foot and hook it between his legs. 4) you should have both of your arms under his armpits, continue to roll and sweep him. Try to finish in side control and not in his half guard. 5) grab behind your opponents right elbow and lift up and over and then place your hand on his chest or on your right shoulder. 6) pop up and lay your right leg flat behind his back and your left foot should be on the left side of his face. 7) hook your opponents right arm with your left arm and grab your shoulder, with your right arm hug his trapped arm and place it on your belt.
when you sit back raise your right knee up but keep your right foot behind his shoulder, squeeze your knees together to finish the armbar.
An alternative to going to a half butterfly would be to do a single leg and finish off in side control. Remember to keep your head in the inside not on the outside of his body.

Butterfly guard to sweep: starting from the butterfly guard 1) both of your feet have to been in between your opponents legs. 2) get your forehead against his chest and S grip behind his back. *Note if your opponent is larger and can’t get your grip you can grip above his shoulders and raise your elbows up. 3) if your opponent snakes his hand under your left arm let him (this is better for you), with your right hand grab his belt from his back, grab the loose gi material around his knee with your left hand. 4) fall to your side and kick your right leg up for the sweep and finish in side control.
